The first official tournament of the FIFA 20 season is here and
Tim 'TheStrxngeR' Katnawatos and
Mirza 'Mirza' Jahic will participate in it along some of Europe’s best players. The Draft Story Cup is back for its second edition and will provide a unique approach to competitive FIFA.
At the end of FIFA 18, many pros and viewers described the first DSC as a highlight of the season and we hope that the upcoming tournament will be in no way inferior to its first version.
Unlike any other professional tournaments, the Draft Story Cup will feature the Draft Mode of FIFA Ultimate Team in which players have to prove their skills on the virtual pitch as well as in team building. For each position you get a proposal of five different players of which you can choose. These regulations provide for unique squads and matchups.
A total of sixteen players will compete on the PlayStation 4 for the prize money of 10.000€. They are going to be split into four groups, that will consist of four competitors. The pros will face each other two times during the group stage. For each matchup you can get three points for winning, one point for a draw or zero points for losing. The top two competitors of each group are going to advance to the knockout stage, where the format will switch to a best of three. The Grand Final will even be a best of five. Before the group stage and before every new round of the knockout stage, all remaining players will draft a new squad. DSC II will introduce “Champion Picks” as an innovation compared to the first edition. Over the course of the tournament, each participant is allowed to choose three different “Champion Picks”, that will function as jokers. However, you can only use one of them in a single draft round and a player can only be activated once throughout the competition.
The schedule for the event looks as follows:
Friday, October 18, 12:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. CEST:
Group stage
Saturday, October 19, 12:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. CEST:
Round of 16 (Best of 3)
Sunday, October 20, 12:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. CEST:
Quarter-Finals (Best of 3)
Semi-FInals (Best of 3)
Grand-Final (Best of 5)
The competition will be the very first tournament for
Tim 'TheStrxngeR' Katnawatos in the jersey of SK Gaming and we hope he is going to have a successful debut.
Mirza 'Mirza' Jahic on the other hand, has already played the last DSC under our banner and will look to kick off the new season the right way with a solid performance.
Between their own games players can relax in the players lounge or even broadcast games of other competitors. This ensures a very relaxed atmosphere and gives the viewer an up close and personal insight into the pro scene.
