It's that time of the year once again - the League of Legends offseason. For some their favourite time of the year, for others quite the opposite. No matter which side of the spectrum you find yourself on, we hope by the time you reach the end of this page you'll be as excited about the 2022 LEC season as we are!
So let's confirm the suspicions of certain sheep and other Twitter denizens now, shall we? We're very excited to say that we reached an agreement with Erik "Treatz" Wessen to continue our journey in the LEC together. Aft
er his brief spell in the jungle, he is returning to the support role and will once again terrorize enemy bot lanes together with Jean "Jezu" Massol.
In the jungle role, we welcome (back) none other than god Erberk "Gilius" Demir himself - one of the brightest characters in the LEC and the German scene, who once helped us out in a moment of need and stood on the Worlds stage in an SK jersey. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and he returns as a leader and a strong confident voice that will take us on the path back to the biggest LoL matches.
Mid lane will now be manned by Daniyal "Sertuss" Gamani - a promising rookie who previously played in the academy teams of Schalke 04 and Misfits and achieved great results with both, including many a win in the LFL against the formidable KCORP.
In the staff department, our new head coach hails all the way from the Land Down Under (yes, we mean Australia). Simon "Swiffer" Papamarkos, who spent the last two years at the head of EXCEL's academy team and brought them to a second place in EU Masters in spring 2021, will be taking the reigns of our LEC team and shaping them up into a strong playoffs contender in the league. He will be supported by Mitch "Krepo" Voorspoels, our new League of Legends General Manager (GM).
Please extend a warm welcome into the SK Family to all of the new LEC team and staff members and get ready to support them at the start of LEC 2022 on 14th January!
