CRS: Shen, Rumble, Elize
VUL: Akali, Xin Zhao, Kayle
CRS: Taric, Miss Fortune, Jarvan IV, Ryze, Katarina
VUL: Hecarim, Nidalee, Lulu, Vayne, Sona
With an unconventional "support heavy" team comp, Vulcun runs midlane Lulu. Curse start by invading, but good ward coverage stops any early advantages for either side and Curse back out of the opponent's jungle. Both ADC and support combos move to 2v1 lanes, they put enormous pressure on the turrets. Meanwhile, Ryze and J4 prove to be an effective lockdown combo scoring a kill on Lulu for firstblood. Vulcun responds by securing the top tower, but Curse retaliates by taking the first dragon of the game, they continued to do so every 6 minutes, creating a substantial gold lead. The 2nd dragon results in a fight that is a 1-1 draw for the two sides.
Strong Nidalee plays sees Kat pushed right to her inhibitor turret early, although Kat's teleport gives Curse a distinct advantage in conflicts. For the fourth dragon, Curse wins 3-1 and secures dragon yet again. Curse takes another 5v4 team fight mid and push to the inhibitor. Shortly afterward, they win another engagement and quickly press the advantage to take out the nexus in style. Curse moves to 5-0 atop LCS and Vulcun drops to 0-4 looking for their first win.
Game 2: Dignitas vs. Good Game University
DIG: Twisted Fate, Twitch, Nidalee
GGU: Kayle, Xin Zhao, Draven
DIG: Vi, Alistar, Singed, Ezreal, Diana
GGU: Nunu, Elize, Rumble, Caitlyn, Lux
Unfortunately for GGU, they ignored Scarra's performance against TSM and allowed him to pick Diana again. Both ADCs found themselves pushing 2v1 lanes and Ezreal picked up an early firstblood on Rumble. A well-orchestrated Vi gank mid with Diana results in a kill on Lux. GGU then responds with a kill on Vi and they take the first mid tower, shortly afterward Lux catches Ezreal in a bind and kills him instantly. Kills stay at 2-2 for a long time, but Dig extends a gold lead by securing map objectives.
Diana catches Caitlyn top, deleting her but GGU finds Diana overextended and finishes her off 3v1. Patoy, with the best KDA in NA.LCS buys an early oracles and puts pressure around Baron. Singed spends him time split pushing and puts enormous pressure toplane. Dig continues their strong play, taking a team fight 2v1 and dragon. GGU looks to engage midlane, but Dig turns it around with a strong counter engage. Dignitas moves in and secures Baron, the gold gap is 50k to 35k at this point. Dig manages to push all three lanes at the same time and look to pressure inhibitors. They win a pivotal teamfight and push the nexus for the win. Dig moves to 4-2 while GGU sits at 0-3.
Game 3: TSM Snapdragon vs. Team MRN
TSM: Kayle, Renekton, Jarvan IV
MRN: Xin Zhao, Vi, Leblanc
TSM: Taric, Maokai, Malphite, Tristana, Orianna
MRN: Lulu, Shen, Olaf, Ezreal, Anivia
This game saw another Leblanc ban targeted at Regi, but he went with a champion he's very comfortable with -- Orianna. Chaox gets and early firstblood on Olaf in a 2v1 lane. Maokai moves in to secure another quick kill on Olaf which succeeds, but a countergank by Shen earns MRN a kill and a lead until Orianna shows up too, TSM taking the tower and the advantage. Chaox starts 3-1 but down in CS by a wide margin. Both 2v1 lanes secure towers by 7 minutes and lanes normalize. TSM continues to dive bot, extending Chaox's kill lead to 4-2 although he struggles in farm and levels. The game is paused because the Oddone is sick, he returns although he looks ill. TSM continue their pace winning a dragon fight 4-0 securing a large gold lead.
TSM pressures top and bot lanes, resulting in a 6k gold lead. Dyrus builds his Malphite with double giant's belts, making him a dominant force in lane. Dyrus continues split pushing, which ends up in more towers for TSM. TSM move to Baron and the gold lead is currently 10k at 20 minutes, things are looking bleak for MRN. TSM pushes every lane into the base and it seems that MRN has no answer for a well farmed Malphite. TSM takes the game and moves to 4-2, while MRN falls to 0-2 on the year.
Game 4: Good Game University vs. Vulcun
GGU: Jayce, Shen, Xin Zhao
VUL: Kayle, Twitch, Katarina
GGU: Kha'zix, Trundle, Nidalee, Ezreal, Lulu
VUL: Renekton, Jarvan IV, Karthus, Miss Fortune, Taric
First blood goes to MF after a sneaky Jarvan gank, advantage Vulcun; there has been major pressure from Xmithie on all lanes. Vulcun secures the first dragon at 10 minutes and they build an early lead. The second dragon goes to GGU and the game evens out slightly. Kills are 3-3 and Vulcun maintains a slight gold lead, they attempt to pressure midlane and take the first tower easily. Down a bit of gold, GGU pressures midlane and secure some kills thanks to accurate Nidalee spears. A 4-0 fight by GGU allows them to take the inhibitor and a dragon, which completely evens out the gold just after the 30 minute mark.
With a very slight gold lead building, GGU groups up and pushes bot lane. The combination of Shurelya's and Trundle's pillar, Vulc find it impossible to properly engage. They lose health due to the poke consisting of mystic shots, spears and void spikes. The fight turns to the favour of GGU and they push the inhibitor and the nexus for the win. GGU earns their first win, 1-3 and Vulc drops to 0-5 mirroring Curse on the other end of the table.
