In the first day all 4 matches from the Winners bracket Round 1 were played, some of them streamed, some of them unfortunately not. 4 teams were sent to the Losers bracket, while the other 4 remained to fight in the second round of the Winners bracket.
The first match we saw was between the Korean powerhouse Azubu Blaze and
Team Dignitas . In what turned out to be a set worth of being played in the finals, Blaze managed to take a 2-0 win, but Dignitas put one hell of a fight and in the end it was the complete lack of luck that denied them a win in the second game and a chance to win the set in a third one. The NA team were twice very close to finishing the game but it just wasn't meant to be - the only inhibitor they had taken down respawned both times just in these crucial moments.
In the second match from the Winners bracket
NaJin Black Sword faced
Team SoloMid . TSM once again couldn't take a game off an Korean opponent and lost 0-2.
At the same time offstream
Counter Logic Gaming EU sent
Dynamic home after a 2-1 win. It's worth mentioning that the European team didn't actually lose a game - they had to forfeit the first one due to being late. The other game that we didn't get to see was between
Counter Logic Gaming and
Team Curse , where the former won 2-0 and once again made
Brandon 'Saintvicious' DiMarco and company wonder what they have to change in order to finally take a set off CLG.
Next on stream was the first game from Losers bracket Round 2 between TSM and CLG.eu. In a revenge match for the loss at MLG Anaheim the Europeans took a 2-0 win. The set will be remembered mainly for
Henrik 'Froggen' Hansen's Lee Sin mid in the second game who had a Bloodthirster and Guardian Angel by the 18th minute.
In another NA clash CLG managed to win against Dignitas with a 2-1 score and went to face their "brother" team CLG.eu next. The result was 2-1 again but this time for the European CLG team, who thus will play in the Losers bracket final today.
In the Winners bracket final the two Korean teams in the tournament faced against each other. Sword had won the last two matches between the two back in Korea and they did it once again with ease. Blaze just couldn't find an answer to the aggressive and all-in plays of
Yoon 'MaKNooN' Ha-woon and his teammates, but will have a second chance to reach the Grand final, if they manage to beat CLG.eu.
