In group B we have 2 teams that most people consider favourites to win the tournament - with both
CLG.EU and
Moscow 5 putting up strong performances lately, the community is expecting them to dominate this group. Will the Spanish
OceloteWorld or the newly formed team by
Maciej 'Shushei' Ratuszniak
EloHell be able to cross the two group favorite's plans? Stay tuned to find out!
Group B
Game 1:
Counter Logic Gaming EU vs
OceloteWorld
The game started off passively, with both teams defending their own jungles. For the next 6 minutes they were pretty much only concerned about farming up. This silence however was broken by OceloteWorld: a two man towerdive on top gave the Spanish team first blood and a slight edge on the top lane.
CLG.eu were clearly in their comfort zone, playing a safe laning phase and waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Their patience got rewarded - at around 11 minutes into the game, 3 members of the Spanish team executed another tower dive - but this time their plans went completely wrong. 1 of the players got killed and the other 2 barely escaped with their lives. By seeing this advantage, the other 4 members of CLG went straight to dragon, taking it uncontested.
Knowing they have to make a move, OceloteWorld decided to push the middle tower which didn't really lead to the wanted result. With a perfect engage, CLG picked up 4 kills and got away without anyone dying. Giving them a free Baron and more map control they knew just exactly what to do and ended the game. After 30 minutes of a pretty one-sided game, CLG sealed their first win! Well Played!
Winner: CLG.EU

Game 2:
Moscow Five vs
EloHell
The game kicks off to a roaring stop, as both teams seem to be entirely content to just farm it out, with even Diamondprox being uncharacteristically wary about counterjungling. It takes until almost the 8 minute mark before a kill happens, with Darius securing a kill on Jax. A few minutes later, Maokai comes to mid after burning Orianna's flash in a previous gank, and EloHell secures their second kill. EloHell picks up a dragon on the heels of this gank. At around 15 minutes Darius baits Jax in to jumping onto him and Maokai successfully executes another gank, EloHell now up 3 - 0 and a Dragon.
EloHell enters the midgame with a strong showing, and both teams begin to set up for the next Dragon. Jax gets caught out in river by a charm, but his team is there to back him up for a kill on Maokai. M5 starts Dragon and EloHell contests, with EloHell losing Darius and Ahri but successfully forcing M5 off dragon, which EloHell then picks up. M5 starts roaming heavily at this point, and with the help of their team M5's botlane double kills EloHell's botlane twice.
As both teams begin to group, EloHell gets a jump on M5 and takes their mid outer turret. M5 goes in to do the same and a fight breaks out, with M5 picking up the tower but losing Orianna and Jax. Shortly after Darius is farming bot and all of M5 rushes him. Darius stalls for as long as possible while his team attempts Baron. After the kill M5 charges for Baron and manages to steal it, losing only Shyvana for Maokai, Soraka and Ahri. With the Baron buff they push down mid inner turret and take Dragon.
With M5 now in a commanding position, they siege up towards top lane and manage to take top inner, and as EloHell is falling back Urgot swaps Ahri to initiate. Maokai is the only death, but M5 takes top all the way to the inhibitor. Around 37 minutes the Baron has respawned and M5 attempts to take it. Soraka comes up to ward and Urgot swaps her to begin the bloodiest clash I have ever seen. The fighting lasts over a minute, with a total of 13 kills due to the 4 GAs that were popped, and the only thing left standing after this fight is Urgot at 20% health. As everyone respawns M5 heads straight back to Baron and takes it uncontested, shoving up mid for the inhibitor, the ace, and the win.
Winner: M5

Game 3:
Counter Logic Gaming EU vs
Moscow Five
Bans:
Picks:
The game starts with both teams covering their jungles and playing very defensively. When players have returned in their lanes M5 decides to go for CLG's blue buff, which they manage to steal successfully. Not too long after that, at 2:55 Ezreal picks up the first blood on Gangplank and soon a few more kills due to M5's misplays.
The first dragon is picked at 10:56 by M5 with no big problems, setting the gold gap a bit smaller. For the next 10 minutes both of the teams played very carefully but since CLG was a bit stronger at this point M5 lost a few kills for them.
At 23 minute mark CLG starts killing the baron and forces a team fight near the baron pit, leading to Froggen picking a quadra kill and CLG acing M5. 2 minutes after that M5 picks a dragon but gives 2 kills in exchange.
First inhibitor is taken down by CLG at 30 minute mark and with the help of those super minions CLG will roam freely around the map picking up objectives such as dragon at 32:10 and a new baron buff at 35:33
39 minutes in, Froggen forces a fight under M5's mid inhibitor turret leading to 1-4 exchange and the final push for CLG. What an intense game overall!
Winner: CLG.EU

Game 4:
Counter Logic Gaming EU vs
EloHell
The game kicks off with both junglers heading top and engaging a 2v2 with their lanemates. Lee sin and Alistar trade kills on each other, while midlane Karthus exhausts Fiddlesticks for a quick early kill. Shortly after EloHell atttempts a Dragon and CLG goes to contest it. CLG picks off Maokai early in the fight, followed up with kills on Graves and Taric, and securing the Dragon.
Feeling like this game is slipping away, Fiddlesticks roams bottom to try and make something happen. CLG manages to countergank it with Alistar and they pick up Fiddlesticks and Taric for free. After a few more stray kills and a Dragon, CLG leads 12 - 1 in kills and is up 10k gold.
CLG manages to catch Fiddlesticks out near mid, which causes CLG to push in and dive, resulting in a delayed ace in exchange for Rumble and Leona, as well as mid inhibitor turret. After a quick back CLG shoves in mid and takes the inhibitor, then swings top. Fiddlesticks manages to get a good ultimate off and EloHell trades everyone except Taric for Ezreal, Rumble and Leona. After a ridiculous chase top by Graves, Taric and Fiddle, CLG turns it around by killing all 3 of them, pushing down top for the win, ending the game up 32 - 6 and 20k gold at 23 minutes.
Winner: CLG.EU
