According to a news post on Thisisgame.com and its translation on the TeamLiquid forums, the games of Blizzard might be excluded from the next grand finals of World Cyber Games.
The major objection to BroodWar, WarCraft 3 and StarCraft 2 being included in the game selection list comes from WCG's main sponsor - Samsung Electronics. The Korean tech giant, which is also a KeSPA member and owner of the pro-BW team Samsung Khan, has gone strongly against Blizzard games to be an official part of the WCG Grand Finals. Despite WCG's objections concerning the difficulties of attracting other sponsors if BW, WC and SC2 are excluded, Samsung so far has stood solid behind their intentions.
Furthermore, yet another obstacle might hinder Blizzard's strategies to enter the WCG finals. OnGameNet, the WCG broadcaster in Korea, is currently involved in a lawsuit with Blizzard concerning intelectual property rights. The option of Blizzard games being featured is considered but only under the conditions that they are not broadcasted in Korea and Korean players are not to compete in those games.
There is still no official statement by the World Cyber Games but one is probably soon to be issued.
