On Call of Duty 4 360's Championship Final it was the typical grudge match that the community has come to expect from tournaments over the last few months with Team-Dignitas, the side dubbed Europe's #1 COD4 360 team by the community's June Decerto Rankings, facing off against The Imperial who were represented by their former players now sporting the banner of Team-Coolermaster. In order to play in the UKeSA Finals, the TCM team happily played under TI's name, having joined TCM over a month ago and near the end of the first UKeSA Season; so there is no disputing that they had earned their place in the Grand Final.
TI picked the first map, choosing Search and Destory on Crash. After some disk troubles and other delays, the match begun, with TI taking an early lead 3-1, then securing the map with a 4-2 victory. The gameplay was quick and the crowd could sense that TI were looking more cohesive as a side. Dignitas' map choice was Domination on Strike; Dignitas came out of this with a score deficit of +23 overall, having taken a 40+ lead in the first game, yet TI rallied and narrowly missed out on the comeback after some clutch grenades and plays by Dignitas.
UKeSA Admins chose the last gametype, which was Sabotage on Ambush, arguably a random map and one of the toughest to win as games could go on for hours at a time. In light of this, the online match stream was halted after about 30 minutes of gameplay with TI leading 1-0 early on. Several stalemates later, TI managed to come out on top with after bombarding the Dignitas camp and numerous killing sprees, meaning that TI took the series 2-1.
TI's side took away £700 for their efforts whilst Dignitas received £300. Arguably this was an unexpected result considering TCM's 3rd place in the June Decerto Rankings, but it will surely serve to elevate the team in the rankings for next month.
