Gaming is Believing. This is the motto SK has been operating under since its creation in 1997 and on this day it rings especially true. As staunch believers in helping and growing the communities around the games we see great potential in, today we're signing a second Brawl Stars team - the Korean squad previously known as Team Apdo, which from now on will compete under the name SK Miracle.
You're probably wondering why we've decided to do that. We're still totally committed to the European roster of Yde, Skyriikzz and Achille, who are battling every month for their chance of qualifying to the World Championship. But we've also witnessed the prowess of Team Apdo, who are the best performing Korean team in the game and who would have easily made it to the big event at the end of the year. Since some rules around the spots each region is granted for the World Championship changed, their chances were greatly diminished. Every monthly final now is a do or die for them and we felt it was the right thing to lend them a hand and support them as they keep fighting. We believe in their potential to make it, and even if they don't, we've helped gamers live their dreams and put competing first just as they desire. There are no losers in a situation like this!
Our CGO Martin Marquardt, who has always pushed forward our involvement in mobile esports, shared the following regarding our decision to sign the team:
"It's inspiring to see a group of young talents tackle a very difficult task that suddenly appeared.
We want to give them the support they deserve because we love challenges and always believe in the impossible. Welcome - SK Miracle - #GamingIsBelieving"
