Six years and a few days ago. Hanover. The Intel Extreme Masters Season 6 World Championship.
If you’re an old school SK fan, you know exactly what story we’re reminiscing about today. If you aren’t, you will learn about a day to remember in the history of our organisation. In any case, it all starts with one of the best performing protoss players and two times GSL champion, the Boss Toss, Jang "MC" Min Chul.
On 10th March 2012 MC took on fellow Korean player PuMa in the Starcraft II Grand Final of the IEM Season 6 World Championship. After securing victory on the first map, Daybreak, the Boss Toss found himself trailing behind 1:2. The match was once again tied at 2:2 before the epic conclusion on map 5, Antiga Shipyard. Despite PuMa’s impressive defence while behind, MC managed to force the GG out of him and proceeded to the stage lifting the trophy all by himself without waiting for anyone to hand it to him, thus creating one of the most memorable win celebrations from the earlier days of esports which you can see for yourselves down below in the video.
