After a lengthy group stage that left no room for controversy because of being played out in a best of three format, the final eight teams are ready to enter the Kiev Cybersport Arena to duke it out in the playoffs.
StarSeries i-League Season 4 had already several surprises in store. The immediate extinction of
Fnatic , who left the tournament without a single win and got defeated by two absolute underdogs in the process was probably the biggest upset. Since their losses came in best of threes you can not find excuses for the outcomes and can not argue that the victories of their opponents have been just a fluke. These undisputed results is what makes the early implementation of the best of three format so interesting. Another surprise has been the elimination of the recently crowned Major champions
Cloud 9 who came into this event with a lot of momentum and confidence.
Our Counter Strike squad did its part to the rather disappointing performance of the first American Major champions by handing them a 2-0 loss in round three of the competition's first phase. Prior to that success, our crew had been defeated by
mousesports for the first time in the existence of both our current CS:GO rosters. However, the opening match against the underdogs of
MVP PK and our final group stage face-off against
Natus Vincere went unambiguously in our favour and assured our progress in the tournament.
Next up are the Americans of
Team Liquid who kicked us out of cs_summit 2 about one and a half weeks ago. Our Brazilian players will kick off the playoffs in the first quarter-final of the day and will be eager to get some payback.
Down below we will provide you with the latest outcomes of the playoffs.
