After a hectic first day, where the semi-finalists forced their way through the group stage, they are ready to compete in the playoffs. The two rosters who come out of their matches victorious will enter the grand-final on Sunday where they have a shot at the trophy and the majority of the $250,000 prize pool. The event provides additional fuel for conflict as it is part of the Intel Grand Slam Season 1. The first team who wins four tournaments that are part of the Grand Slam will earn $1,000,000. Currently the players of SK Gaming and G2 Esports hold one victory respectively. Therefore, winning this competition would be especially crucial for our Brazilians.
Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo and his counterparts got off to a slow start in their first match against Team EnVy . After winning the pistol round, the Brazilians submitted five consecutive rounds but quickly bounced back and did not lose another round in the first half. Our team was able to carry over the momentum into the second half and closed out the game for the score of 16:12.
The Americans of Cloud 9 also came out on top of their first duel versus Natus Vincere and faced us on Train in the winner's match of Group A. The contest was a rather one-sided affair. Our squad began on the ct-side and quickly jumped out to a 9:0 lead. The established dominance was maintained throughout the first half and the halftime score of 13:2 was too much to overcome for our opponents. After winning the first two rounds of the second half, our team was finally able to convert the fourth of their many match points for the final outcome of 16:5 in our favour.

Marcelo 'coldzera' David seems to be in a great shape and will look to continue his performance from the group stage where he posted a positive K/D-ratio of +25. In the first semi-final of the day, he and his teammates will take on Team Liquid who surprisingly beat Astralis Denmark in a close decider match. The Brazilians would love to get some revenge for last week's elimination of ESG Tour Mykonos 2017. Our opponents are one of the two remaining US semi-finalists who would love to win the trophy in their home country. The other participant with home field advantage who is still in the race for the title is Cloud 9 who will take on the European allstar squad of FaZe in the evening.
