SK Gaming vs.
Astralis Denmark
Semi-final
9-16 (5:10, 4:6) on de_cache
4-16 (4:11, 0:5) on de_overpass
The semi-final clash began with the Danes winning the pistol round in a strong fashion on the defensive CT side on Cache. SK Gaming managed to take first weapon round, but
Markus 'Kjaerbye' Kjaerbye kept his team in a leading position and scored the next seven rounds in a row. Despite the rather disappointing beginning on the offensive side, our Brazilian squad secured the last remaining four rounds of the first half to end it with a fair amount of rounds to take into the second half.
SK Gaming claimed the first four rounds and was also about to take the twentieth as well, due to
Ricardo 'fox' Pacheco's intense pressure, but unfortunately Astralis managed to take it out from our hands in the end. Great performance by all five members of the Astralis team continued to keep them moving forward to the last round of the map, which Astralis won in a two-on-two situation.
The second map also started with
Lukas 'gla1ve' Rossander and company taking the pistol round as well as the following two economic rounds. SK Gaming continued to heavily underperform on the defensive side and lost a total of eight more rounds during half one. Fortunately our own
Epitácio 'TACO' de Melo Filho was crucial for us winning the last three rounds of the first half.
The second pistol round of the map turned out absolutely devastating for our team, as the Danish star
Nicolai 'device' Reedtz managed to win it singlehandedly, scoring an ace and moreover two knife kills at the end of the round. The Brazilians were unable to recover and lost all five rounds of the second half and ended up in 3rd-4th place in Anaheim, California.
