Today, SK Gaming announce the departure of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive coach Wilton 'zews' Prado, who recently expressed his desire to leave his current role and instead return as a competitive player under the banner of team Immortals. At SK, we obviously decided to honour his wish and have now completed his transfer over to the North American organization.
Wilton joined the Brazilian team back in late November 2015, coming together with Lincoln 'fnx' Lau and Epitácio 'TACO' de Melo from Games Academy, as a replacement for the team's former coach and ex-MiBR player Renato 'nak' Nakano. Ever since acquiring the duty of a team coach, Wilton has aided his teammates to win two consecutive major titles at MLG Columbus 2016 and ESL One Cologne 2016, as well as numerous other championships and prize winnings surpassing one million USD in 2016 alone.
Jens Wundenberg, SK Gaming:
"It is with mixed feeling that we have to say goodbye to Wilton today as he's been a member of the team just like any other player and an essential factor behind our success story. Despite the rather short period as part of SK Gaming, we've come to know him as a great coach and person and would always welcome him with open arms should he ever consider coming back.
With that being said, we wish him all the best going forward, both professionally and personally, and are extremely excited to face him on the battlefield. At the same time, we would also like to give thanks to Noah Whinston and the organization of Immortals, who have been extremely professional in handling this transfer and made sure all the formalities ran smoothly.
