I disagree, he wasn't THAT good. He was a great player for sure but he shouldn't be overrated because of his retirement. Moon was better even when Freedom was still active, I'd consider him as one level with SoJu or maybe ReMinD.

Ofc Moon is better than anyone any given time but FreeDom had the most potential to surpass Moon (if only he continued to play wc3)
when Freedom was playing he was better than Moon in many ways, style, micro, timing, executing, map controlling. Just watch his games and you'll understand what I mean. Plus arceus is right. He had even greater potential than Moon had specially being much younger than Moon as well.
He made a bad choice going back to star craft (because yes.. he came to war3 from SC). he never archived anything near to what he managed to achieve in wc3.
Concerning potential, I agree that he had a lot of talent. I'm still not of the opinion that he was better than Moon, I've seen several games of Freedom, wins as well as losses, I've never seen anything over-genius as I saw it in Moon's games though micro and timing was great in my eyes. A big talent? No doubt, absolutely not. Sad SC took him over and I miss watching his replays.
Hmmm Moon really bloomed in early 2005 when he managed to win tournament, over tournament. Before that, moon had a pretty tough competition and if you ask ppl who watched Freedom or if you read topics about freedom vs Moon (skill + tallent) u'll same pattern. Ppl knew back then freedom was better.

Moon invented several tactics wich where played by the whole world after he first played them, he wins many tournaments, his great micro management is doubtless, he won so much tournaments and was considered as unbeatable for a long period in weg2005 (where he didn't lose a single map). Because of that, he is considered as one of the world's very best players for years now and the best night elf ever playing warcraft 3.
And Moon was not much older than Freedom when he became the world's top night elf. Look at the VOD above, I doubt Moon ever got raped like that by an Orc player, not on TV or any famous tournament. People I talked to did not say Freedom was better than Moon, you're the first one I hear it from. The usual opinion I hear is that Moon is the best Night Elf player in Warcraft 3 up to this day. My statement is that Moon is and was better than Freedom because he had more success, had more influence on the scene, has n had better micro and macro management, more creativity (he uses it very well timed) and still keeps his level high while Freedom couldn't really break through. Why do you think Freedom is better than Moon?
well you said the magic word and you proved my theory... 2005! indeed Moon started to bloom in 2005 when he managed to win. Sure Moon was called fantasista for a reason but freedom was still better than him. Perhaps not as creative as Moon was but surely better. Plus you cannot judge a player by how hard he defeated somebody. Plus remember one fact Freedom retired in 2005. Do you think it was a pure coincidence?
Moon was also known to have NEVER lost to an orc in a b.o 3 series. The only orc who managed to beat him in an event was Grubby. Prior to that he had an insane rate versus Orc. Each player has strengths and weaknesses.. still your example doesnt proves Moon was better, just better vs Orc.
But nothing you say proves that Freedom was better. What do you summarize under the word 'better'? He was not as creative, not as successful as Moon is what you say. Do you concider a player as better if you like his micro and macro management more? I doubt that Freedom had better micro and macro management and if he had, Moon was still the better player because of the reasons I mentioned. Moon beat better players than Freedom. It's true 2005 was Moon's year, what was Freedom's year?? If Freedom would've been as good as Moon, he hadn't retired. If he was a better talent then Moon did better in using it to become legend.

Well, this is kind of a poor game to be making the argument that freedom was better than moon dnt u think? Definitely a great talent, too bad we never got to see his full potential...altho it's hard to imagine someone being better than moon later on, after 2004
