From what I've heard is that once he met some fans when he was out in USA in some club, and those fans asked if he was Fatal1ty and he said he was and they asked for a autograph and he gave them and wasn't cocky at all.
Hate him all you want but at least he's actually given back to what made him big. Where as a lot of other retired pros run away as if the community never even existed.
he's a living proof that successful e-sport pro isn't an oxymoron and he sponsored many players from his own pocket as you could hear. that's more than you ever did or will do ;)
1 i dont think he got some big ego, even if he do..he got good reasons... i think he is just straight. 2 he is sponsoring talented players..thats pretty nice from him..
Everyone who is getting over-marketed is going to appear as "cocky" or "sell-out" to a certain portion of the audience. The thing is that Johnathan is a really nice and cool guy when you meet him face to face. Unfortunately he might seem different when aggressive managers and marketers try to push him as a brand, in a very American and uber-capitalistic way.
Believe me, many people are gonna say the same about SpawN and HeatoN after the marketing suits have pushed their "brands" as heavily as the Fatal1ty brand has been.
...and as someone else mentioned, Fatal1ty is important for eSports because he proved that professional gaming can be a job, career and lifestyle.
Respect and kudos to Fatal1ty for what he has accomplished and will accomplish in the years to come (hoping for an active comeback in the competitive scene, because the guy can still rail most people silly).
You could be just a jealous USA guy?
