I think the average apm is lower in wc3 than in SC. Also you can finish a game in 10min or less in SC, but in wc3 they tend to often take 20min to complete.
He isn't talking about the speed of the players, jesus christ. Can't be arsed to check what he said _exactly_ but it was something like "the pace of the game in warcraft 3 feels slower because the fights take so long". Which is pretty much true if you compare it to the fights in sc.
Both Tasteless and Artosis know their SC and are (were) pivotal players in the USA scene. Yes, theyre slightly biased towards SC but that's where most of their experience lies so thats understood. Nice interview!
Biased? :) man you do not know Artotis. That guy is the biggest SC elitist that exist on this planet. He will rip your heart apart if you dare say there is an RTS better then SC.
I personally think starcraft is more fun to watch but I don't think that w3 is slower in any way, at least not for the spectators. Battles might take longer and ofc there are times when both sides just do some creeping but sc has some time passages too where nothing really exciting happens, at least not for the spectator. The thing with the heroes in w3 is something that is sometimes a curse and sometimes a blessing. For instance it is really exciting to watch when there are high level heroes killing off a whole army but on the other hand anyone who has a descent grasp of rts games knows that the heroes made it impossible to balance the game. That is one of the reasons I enjoy sc more because the game is simply more balanced. Also it is undeniable that the sc players micro and macro is much more refined than most of the w3 players. Everyone who played w3 and then switched to sc knows how many convienient additions blizzard made when they created w3 and how hard it is to control more units without those additions. For cs I think tasteless and artosis are absolutely right. The game is very well paced and generelly fun to watch but with 10 people on the same map its hard to get the best scenes every round and you are bound to miss some of the sweet action.

Would love to see more interviews with them
That cracked me up.
