as you might know valve, the developers behind Counter-Strike 1.6, are running a series of updates at the moment, to "finally" fix the "russian duck" exploit (known as doubleduck in the Kreedz community). The first updates just added some extra sounds to achieve that, but the next update, which is about to come very soon (you can already play it in steam by going to "settings -> account -> change -> Counter-Strike 1.6 Beta) will remove some of the sounds again (since the whole community hated them) BUT it will also added a massive slowdown after ducking.
No surprise that this will change the CS movement completely, which is kinda annoying for normal Counter-Strike players, but HORRIBLE for us, since it will kill (or at least make them way less effective) some basic techniques in Kreedz:
- Doubleducks
- Countjumps
- Duckstandup Bhops
Therfore we'd like to ask you to stand up to save the CS 1.6 Kreedz Climbmaps you used to love as they are at the moment, and to take part in the discussion going on in the official valve/steam forum thread.
Let's hope we add some voices to make a chance, or at least to convince them to add a cvar or maybe even an own mod for our lovely community, to remove the new physics which are about to come and destroy CS 1.6 climbmaps.
/Update: I opened a new thread in the steam forums to explain our problem and the consequences this update might have for our beloved climbmaps: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=848955
Communities and climbers all over the world: Please support this thread by making a small post with your opinion in this thread!
But remember: Please stay calm and friendly, since you're representing the climbers and kreedz communities all over the world - and the guys at valve want to HELP improving the game in their attempt to fix the "bug"/russian bounce.
Valve have fucked up cs completely. The jumps/ducks sucks. You hear when you jump while you are standing still/ducking, that destroys almost every tactic in cs..
