The eight best teams of Asia are attending the ESL Extreme Masters III Contintenal Finals in Chengdu, China to compete for not only two slots for the Global Final but also $50,000 USD prize money. The event is taking place from 16th to 18th January 2009 at the Happy Kingdom Theme Park together with the China Chengdu Digital Entertainment Exposition. Two groups with each four teams have been drawn where the top two will advance to the Double Elimination playoffs.
