Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) calls its readiness for the sixth ESWC season, 2008. In fifty (50) countries the top teams and players will be battleing out for the wanted spots that give chances to represent their own countries at the ESWC Grand Finals, one of the most valuable highlights of the electronic sports circuit. ESWC 2008 features the following game tournaments: Counter-Strike 1.6 Male Counter-Strike 1.6 Female Warcraft III : The Frozen Throne Trackmania Nations ESWC According to the statements given by ESWC, there will still be a pure First-Person Shooter (FPS) game, but it will be announced in the end of this year. "We have to wait and evaluate the mess of new games released the upcoming weeks. We want to take the time of a good choice and built its success with the communities of players," said the ESWC committee. "We think CS 1.6 is still the best version for competition to date. It is also the most played version. We have signed a licence agreement with Valve for CS 1.6 and we thank them for their support and their trust in our project."
