This weekend, Singapore hosted the first annual WCG Asian Championships. Sixty players (ten Counter-Strike teams of five and ten Warcraft 3 players) from Asia and Oceania competed in Counter-Strike and Warcraft 3 to be crowned the Asian Champions. Starting with Counter-Strike, the obvious favorite to win was wNv.china. The Chinese powerhouse went through the tournament without a single loss, however, it was not as easy as it may have seemed. Wnv had a couple close calls against HoA and XCN; both matches wNv squeeked out a close 16:14 win. Still, China's representative took it all the way, doing its country proud by winning the final against Style by a score of 16:12. In the bronze medal game, XCN rubbed out team Hybrid with a 16:10 win. Asia's top three (CS): 1. wNv China 2. Style 3. XcN Moving onward to Warcraft 3, we have two very talented players, Philbot and suHo, looking to take home the crown. It was no surprise when both players met each other in the finals, but neither player lost a single map throughout the entire tournament. In the end there could only be one winner, and it was Australia's Philbot edging out China's suhO by a score of 2:1. Asia's top three (WC3): 1. Philbot 2. suhO 3. TruE Congratulations to Philbot and wNv.cn on their victories!
