Started playing CS1.6 in the 2004 untill the end of 2007, quited and back in the end of 2009 and playing since then. :)

Cant really call it "quite" since I have never was intersted to play CS1.6 in competetive level, but had chance to show myself on lans.

Few tips:
Always keep yours "rate" command on "20000" and never listen to anyone who tell you otherwise, this is the highest value you can put it in CS1.6/HL1 since last update.

Always try to keep your cl_updaterate to go along with the between of the cl_maxupdaterate and cl_minupdaterate values of the servers your at - use net_graph 1 and manage to play with the cl_updaterate value untill you see blue dots.

In CS1.6 you better run off 640x, 800x, 1024x - not above that.

Always keep your fps stable on 100

Dont force yourself to use any other adjust (Peripherals, mousefix,sensitivity etc) than what you already got used - in the end readjusting will give you hard time.

Dont be cheap on your Computer/Peripherals stuff.
