Description
Hey, my name is Robert Black I'm 20 years old come from the UK.Gaming History
I started gaming back in 2003 with Operation Flashpoint and when Call of Duty game out I started playing that. I played for a while in a couple of clans most notably Sykotic. When I started my A levels in late 2004 I stopped playing and had about two years off from competitve gaming, with only the occasional public and console fun going on.
Late in 2006 I started to go to university at Plymouth where I studied Civil and Coastal Engineering, I picked up playing CoD2 and went to my first LAN i30 in the UK. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the social side of gaming, something I did not expect at all.
Due to my university life I decided not to carry on playing competitvely and started to help out with management and tournament admin. This meant I could still be involved with gaming and the people I had met but didnt have to commit as much time. At i31 I was an assistant admin for the CoD2 tournament and started to work for the UK organisation Infused.
Later on that year was i32 and saw the long anticipated release of Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare. i32 was on the weekend of release and had the pleasure to be the first tournament in the world for CoD4. I was head admin for this event and had a lot of fun trying to get it as competitive as possible in 12 hours.
In early 2008 I started to work for Fourkings as their CoD4 team manager. At the end of Feburary 2008 I was head admin for the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4. And later in March was also admin for i33.
Shortly after i33 in April I joined MYM as the CoD4 manager with the recent addition of the CoD4 squad from TLR.
Since leaving MYM I now work for team dignitas in a managerial role.
Promod
In early June 2008 I was head admin for the Call of Duty4 tournament at Acer Challenge in the Netherlands. While at this event I had the idea to create "Promod" for call of duty4, to replace and update the outdated PAM which has been the competitive mod for most of the CoD series life. Taking on this myself and Kleineman pulled together a few ideas. Over time and finding the fantastic Coder that is Raf, we have created what is now used worldwide as the most accepted ruleset and competitive mod for CoD4.
