Description
I entered the "eSports" somewhere in 2002 I guess, with CS 1.5 and played for some unknown teams with friends, just to get used to the games, environment and people, I was only 14 years old back then ...Later on I met who would come one of my best friends ever, when I decided to start with UT2003, not so long after that, I could enter the Swiss's iCTF national team and a good swedish organisation, WiL, then I entered the team of three other swiss national players, nVo, and we were quite successfull between the European top teams. After that, sometime in 2004, I decided it was time to go back to the roots and wanted to have a good CS team that I'd founded, so I asked Maniac (the guy which made me a good UT2k3 player, and which is my best friend actually) if he wanted to do that with me (he had CS background, too).
He was ok with the idea, so "acclaiM" was born, a team with not-so-big-ambitions, but still with seriousness. We formed that team so, with Maniac, bitOr (which had played for HystRia a few LANs, HystRia was top-three team in Switzerland at that time), Brkah and SwaY.
We quickly did several bootcamps and our first LAN was there, nobody was seeing us in the top6, but we won it easy, ok there wasn't HystRia nor the other big teams, but it meant sth to us.
But UT2004 was out, and I was already playing it in 1on1, in the same time than I was playing with acclaiM and a month later, I had to choose between both and sadly, I choosed to play UT2004, nowadays I regret it, because CS developped way better than any other game, and who knows where I would be now, when we see Maniac was able to fullfill his dream and qualified for the ESWC 2006.
However I was back in UT2004 since the early days and I guess I was quite successfull at that game, but not as much as I would have wished to, placing everytime top4 but not better, while being better than at least one of the top3 guys. Badluck was my credo anyway.
Later on, in the end of 2005, when Quake 4 was out, I decided to give it a shot and try to be one of the very best at least in Switzerland.
So, to be able to do that I went to speak with the arguably best Swiss player ever, InsTinct, which showed that in Quake 3 and Doom 3, and asked if he wanted to bootcamp before the big events, so we did, together with two other players from his former team, myTRIAD, we did a good bootcamp one week before the first Swiss Q4 LAN, and to say the least it was quite a successfull bootcamp, as all the four finished in the top4, but again me having some badluck and hands shaking in the important moments, I finished only on the fourth place.
One month later there was a LAN on the french side of Switzerland, where I never lost a UT match, so I was quite confident it would be the same with Q4, and it was the same, as I clearly won the event.
Then I've got invited to the gamersNET Majorleague together with 8 other peoples, and 4 qualifiers.
In the end I was able to get through that top four, even if I must say my legendary badluck came again when I just lost 1 map to 2 (because of an overtime at the very last second) to the runner-up of the ESWC and that league.
The event just before that final match for gNET league was the ESWC Switzerland ... I finished on a respectable third place, but my aim was the top two and a spot for the grand finals, so I must say I didn't fullfilled my wishes once again, even if I didn't looked bad.
For now I'm just enjoying the time and playing guitar
See you on UT3 =)
