Why Spain had an easy win? First, lets face the fact. They already crushed them in the group stage with ease. It was all clear that something had to be changed vs Spain now. Nothing was.
Also, we could clearly see that Arshavin is faaar from a great player. Great players are spotted on important matches. Here, he totally sucked. I was hoping that the hype around him won't influence him but I guess I was wrong. Every football player have one-two great matches per season but only the real GREAT players are consistent. And we didn't saw that here.
Now the coach. Imo Gus Hidink had to changed something and not start with the same rooster as vs Netherlands. Why? Well the first logical explanation is that Spain already saw this tactic and its prepared. The second imo is more important as the style by Spain is very different from the one of the Netherlands. They played with long distant direct shots, corners and searching for Nistelroy. On the other hand Spain plays with short passes, slowly progressing and then BAM.
In conclusion: Russia was pathetic. Their one and only shot on target was in 88 min. This speaks volumes. Well deserved Spain!

Hmm.. Maybe I'm wrong though :p Only thing I do know is that Spain simply just was better.. They locked Arshavin down and that showed how much the Russians depend on him.
