Hi guys and girl-pretenders
It has been, years? Many years? But it seems that the reign of terror is over and intellectual discourse of higher level than "what is your favorite crosshair" is finally allowed again and the dumbing down of the gaming community is over. But please, the occasional conspiracy nut residing here can spare me his theories on how Bush is dumbing down Americans, that is not what I meant.
Good to see that the forum base is still composed of the same European unintellectual social-liberal emo with the contrast of a few average Americans (lub u smallerthantree[is it still bugged?]). In my time away I have trained my forum-fu atop many forum-mountains and have now returned to my origins.
I'd prefer a philosophical forum as metaphysics are more interesting than human affairs but lets talk politics then, and instead of talking about the usual things that get shoved in your face on a daily basis("iraq is wrong!" "guns are evil!" "drugs are evil!" "religion is evil!" "global warming is fake!" etc.) lets try to talk about something different like social justice and the modern mediocracy.
Never heard of them? Thats what you get for being a gaming idiot, well, I'll explain them and proceed to expose why exactly you and your beliefs suck.
Social justice should be familiar to anyone with English as their mother-tongue, basically its one of those crazy lefty(most likely anyone who's flag lacks stars and stripes belongs to this group here) idea that because people are not equal they can't just be equal in front of the law, like those greedy capitalists want, but some people should be supported more than others to equalize things, yay!
Check it on Wikipedia if you want a more lefty friendly description, but Wikipedia is just a hypocritical organization monopolizing truth.
Mediocracy is well defined by Fabio Tassano, who I think invented the word: "'mediocracy' is a condition in which culture is subordinated to pseudo-egalitarian ideology. Symptoms include: dumbing, jargonism, infantilisation, vacuity, phoney democratisation and authoritarianism.
A key weapon of the mediocratic agenda is the Orwellian redefinition of words and ideas. "
Dumbing down is not done by the NWO up on some ivory tower but you're doing it to yourself and society is doing it to itself. Before the Americans start commending me for going after those darned commies I warn you that mediocratic thought is not confined to the left at all and is just as more present on the right side of the political spectrum. If you're still sucking your thumb about the definition I'll break it down for you:
Pseudo-egalitarian = People being equal is not important, but people seeming equal is.
Jargonism = People are obsessed with jargon and formalism at the cost of meaningful content.
Infantilisation = The adoption, by adults or mature adolescents, of iconography that is, or was initially, intended for children.
Vacuity = Feel free to use the dictionary, it's a normal word.
Phoney democratisation = Anti-individualism.
Authoritarianism = If this is unfamiliar to you I suggest you stop discussing politics.
So why do the people of this forum want the government to do everything for them and have a meaningless, predefined but easy life?
"In an autocracy, one person has his way; in an aristocracy a few people have their way; in a democracy, no one has his way." -Celia Green
Discuss. (Before I get banned for some weird reason, preferably.)

rKos: I was just wondering why did you pick the SK-gaming phorum, to talk bout this kind of things :) The whole idea of communicating without any bann with admin quote:Constructive critisism is really cool, but still, I don't see a point of writing about those things on a Gaming forum with many people that their age is under 15, and dumb idiots with quotes as "HEATON". Anyway good luck :P

in my opinion there is no dumbing-down in the sense that the people are nowandays less critical then in the past. just look at history and you will see that one form or other of dictatorship is the most comon form of government. especially in the middle ages a very small percentage of the population lived in unimaginable wealth while the rest was in grave poverty.
such a system can only be the result of the poulation beeing willingly ignorant and refusing to rethink their basic ideas of society, ethics and religion. but there needs to be a component of society which prevents people from doing this. it doesn't have that much to do with intelligence as with education. children are beeing indoctrinated to be ignorant, to believe in irational things, to feel powerless even though they do have the power to change what their governments are doing, to accept wars, poverty, etc. even if it is not needed.
in the 20. century 150 million people died by the actions of governments, mostly war. i don't think the population ever thought "hey, let's start a war so millions of people can die", they were most of the time decived in order to accept it. the 21. century didn't begin very well either. iraq has been attacked by the us even though there were no wmds and the government knew it, there was no link to 9/11, no agression what so ever. now 1 million peaople are dead. laws which abolish constitutional civil rights are beeing passed worldwide every day and the mainstream media don't even report it. the politicians responsabile are not beeing punished and even get reelected and we will certainly have even more wars.
society, parents, schools and the media all spread ignorance towards such things. it won't change anytime in the near future. it has allways been this way and i think it will be this way until the end of our civilisation.
