NO. The whole European scene will stay in CS1.6. If im not completly wrong there are loads of big 1.6 tournaments coming up for it! CS1.6 is not going to die! :) I think that 1.6 wont die before there will be something which is similar. And ProMod, is KINDA similar but it has all the bad things about CS:S in it, so people dont even want to play it. It will be a long time before 1.6 will be history!

Max knows what he is talking about :) 1.6 will stay around for a while as there are still more tournaments for 1.6 than for Source. CGS will be bigger, maybe, but that is still only available for a VERY limited number of teams in Europe. So the others will just stay with 1.6

Right :) ESWC, WCG, ESL and so on are still playing CS 1.6. Therefore there is no reason to change at the moment.

Rio - you'll find that Source is even more dead than 1.6. After looking on Valve statistics, 1.6 is still way more popular and played by thousands more than Source is - these statistics prove 1.6 is still healthy in terms of players.

Yeah but theres more competitions going on in Source it seems like to me. Duna as i say ive only just come back n dont know alot, will have to look more into it. But just from first impressions source seems alot more active n to have more competitions running and i fancy the idea of learning a new game :>

The UK 1.6 scene at the moment is dead, this is only becasue we have geeks who can't actually play and would rather go out stabbing people. 1.6 is still huge in Europe and it will remain that way for quite some time. There's still many 1.6 tournaments going on, just give a little read around. Cya!

i hope thats Sk NOT change to Source . Counter Strike is much better than Source and the Source community is not as good as the CS community :P:P

I really like that you state that the 1.6 scene is better than the source scene. How can you even say that when you probably have no experience when it comes to source? The scenes are quite the same if you ask me. All this bashing going on from 1.6 players are quite hilarious, and I hope you one day realize that 1.6 and source are two VERY different games.

To MaverickUK are you sure? There are many good cs:s teams in UK like London Mint, Bigmingham Salvo, Team Ebuyer etc. And don't know any UK team which plays 1.6, 4K maybe? They even lost to the team which didn't qualify to EM Group stage. People, stop to be 1.6 fanboys.

I'm not being a 'fanboy' - Source is a disgrace to gaming. If they were to improve it, then i would play, but at the moment i would rather play a 5on5 on Tetris than a 5on5 on Source.

When was the last time you've played, and how long did you play it?

Rio only thing that happens in the uk css scene in the i-series, 1.6 still got SGL and on the whole 1.6 has more "Big" events. Stay onesix Rio! :P

Most Sourcers are switching to cod4. CS needs 1.7 to become the biggest game again. CSS will lose to cod4, cs is dieing but will remain superior over css...and promod...well, I don't really see it happen as long as it doesn't get support from the big tournaments. Changes in the cs/css scene HAVE to happen in order to maintain the 'cs/css' scene imo.

Cs : 1.6 is still maintaining itself in the "most played multiplayers" ... so I don't think , the new "disaster engine" named : source will take it's place very quick , because people are used to 1.6 gameplay , aren't quite ready to start a game from 0 , take's a lot of resources , very unreal physics and extremely booring ! The New ProMod doesn't look very promising either , is the same "shit" with a new "start screen" , extra menu's and "real physics" they say ... remain to see ! I vote for old 1.6 !

i cant believe that u played source i think when it was on beta stage, and still ur saying its shit, get a clue some of u, Maybe source still havew some bugs, but not as many as ages ago. How can u say that source have died, if its age is abouT 3~ years and cs1.6 got almost 7, wait one more or two years and ull see how it will be and def it will be css > cs cause many leagues is accepting source already, someone said that cs still got SGL etc - lol, read the news m8, source is in SGL too, like i said, just get a clue and wait some more time ;o

I think css is better than 1.6 :P But SK is much better in 1.6 than in css i think and the feeling at events is better with 1.6

I think SK will get a CSS team when some bigger Clans get one too ;) . But I don't think they will switch, because why they should do it =)
