How to increase the FPS?

I'm getting a low FPS on CS:S. Max of 120 FPS.. Can anyone help me to increase it without reducing the graphic quality?

Here's my rig:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 2.66GHz
Motherboard: MSI P-35 Neo
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800 Team Elite
Hard disk: 160GB Seagate SATA
Graphic Card: Galaxy 9800GT 512mb

fpsconfig

Where can I see that fps config?

That link is not working. :(

search on google for casey fps config or dt's intel fps config, and always make sure that you clean up your computer for files that are just lie around, and often check that you got the newest ghrapics driver etc etc..

fps_max 101

vsync off

largo_0
largo_0

online
there's also the CEVO fps config, you can find it through google easily

Drop down your video setting?

fps 1 xa

simply switch off anti-alysing and vertical sync and you will have better fps
but with your video card you can play without vs but with aa (anti alysing) and you should have higi fps (120 +)

Erm, i got same graphic card (bfg geforce 9600gt 512mb), 2gt ram, 500gb hard disk, amd athlon dual core 3.0ghz. And i got max 400fps. STABLE 130fps. And people talk intel is faster with smaller cpu clocks, but this changes my thoughts. :--D And i use max resos (1440x900), and all settings high except anti-aliasing. Try to clean your computer... That will help, and patch your drivers. (;

why u wanna better fps than 120 :D? ur hardware is very well... check out mine xD and i still playing css

120 fps constant is gud o_O

keep it constant 101 or 121 (fps_max)

launchoptions

-dxlevel 81

Actually it depends in your CPU to, Source is game that requires more from the Cpu than from GPU. Try to do what FX-N1NJA said use -dxlevel 81 in the launchoptions and try to use casey's cfg the only way to know if it will work is trying.

Your FPS can go up to a million but your only going to see what your screen can show, look for refresh time on the Screen specs, normally 75hz, if so put in config/autoexec fps_max 76 (one above), that way your pc wont work more when it's not even showing you that way keeping steady and not over working for when there's a busy environment it wont "lag" and keep you pretty much at that frame rate.

Also this is a competitive game, if your sacrificing a bit higher graphics just to look good, well unless you got a pc that can take it easily then lower them all, apart from Shadow Detail, hope that helps any other people in doubt,

all the best
