I think you're confusing mainstream with creativity gone wrong. I'll admit the movie did a different creative take on monster flicks but in still stands as being a notch above sub-par for me.

The only way this will win an oscar is like someone above mentioned, for special effects or something of that sort.

i liked the atmosphere of the movie... reminded me of 28 days/weeks later (from the deepness of atmosphere which i rly liked). but i agree the ending wasnt my cup of tea + the shaky camera might be bad aswell for some peepz
