Honestly the Champions League is not the big soccer tournament it was years ago. The image is broken in my eyes. In the past years teams like Ajax Amsterdam played awesome with their young players.

And what do we see now? Donezk, Bukarest or Praha. I don't want to blame those teams, because if they play in the Champions League they deserve it. But i don't know the reason for my opinion. It's just not that feeling, i had seasons ago. Battles between Inter and AC, Bayern and Real or ManU.

The suprising season of Leverkusen - reaching the final against Real and showed fresh and nice games. Bayern versus ManU - leading 1:0 until the 90min and then lost 1:2 (i cried btw). AC leading 3:0 against Liverpool and lost the game! I want to see more worldclass soccer matches, but nowadays the feeling is lost.
Even if we see results like 7:0 oder something like that. I hope the teams will show us another level at the single elimination rounds. Maybe they play to much tournaments and games...

If you followed the CL for more than 1 season you will find many games during the groupstage, which were more interesting

yeah group stages are always boring because most of the times we know who's gonna pass (just like in the World Cup)

personally I have found this seasons CL a pleasant suprise, interesting to see how sides like Valencia, Liverpool struggle, while newcomers like Sevilla play some really good football(despite being only 10th in La Liga atm).

It is only for the good that there are more smaller sides in this years CL. It's a good opportunity for them to improve financially, just to get to the groupstages is a big step for them in that regard, every win, draw they get they'll get even more. Champions league isn't really appopiately named with 4 teams from Spain, England and Italy
