Creating vhosts for IRC BNCs...
Does anybody know if it is possible to create vhosts for free?
Cause I some servers running and I want to provide free IRC bouncers but the problem is that they get all G-Lined for having all the same IP so I got to create som vhosts... I've read some tutorials like creating them in the httpd.conf on the apache server... But I'm confused... I don't want to give free BNCs by having to pay the vhosts domains...
So... can it be done free? And how could I do that?

Hey
Creating different vhosts won't work, as you're only allowed one vhost per IP I think, meaning you're still only going to be able to get four connections onto Quakenet before you'll be glined.
You would have to buy more IP addresses from your ISP to get more connections onto the network (with each IP being allowed to connect four times).
To get vhosts, you have to assign each IP to a hostname (using an A record to point the domain to the IP). This can be done either in your domain registrar's control panel, or in your DNS' Zone File.
You can however apply for a "Trust" on Quakenet, which will allow you to have more than four connections per IP to the network (so you won't have to keep buying more IP addresses to connect on). But I don't think they are giving away any more commercial trusts at the moment.
This may help, although I do admit that I don't know too much about this subject, so may be wrong :p

Yeah I think that would work to setup the A records, but you'd still need more IP addresses to be able to connect more than four times.
ok tnx @ info...
There are other sites, like easydns.com that do the same as no-ip.org. I've never used either before, but my friend users easydns, and he says it's alright
