I think it'd be nice to have a forum that is about politics and things alike, on sk.

I know that there are points against it, like this is a gaming site, and that SK should take a neutral stand.

But if sk would distance itself from the topics and posts made in it (like that text displayed under the blogs on the old page), or make users tick some Terms of Agreement or Terms of Use box everytime they want to access it, it would not be a problem at all, from my point of view, at least.

I think you should give it a try during the beta phase, and see how the community reacts to it.

I agree. It would be an interesting forum and would certainly start some interesting and serious topics for once. Politics are also not as personal as religion.

You can never separate politics and religion completely. If you mention one, the other will eventually arise whether one likes it or not. So it should be Politics/Religion, and only slightly moderated to keep out the douche bags. I'd some come back in full force if SK did that.

i'd not like it, if it'd be the same forum for both topics, but it'd be great if there'd be 2 seperate forums :)

Yeah the admins here have always been Nazis about expressing politcal/religious beliefs.

Last I checked the term "Nazi" referred to a person who is a member of the Nazi party of which I'm sure nearly all Germany detests. I was actually using it as a blunt term for "fascist." I probably should have just said fascist. Oh well.

yeah but its kinda common knowledge that people like to generalize and call all germans nazis, yet i wasnt complaining :)

really they should allow political discussions in this forum, i mean religious discussion is kinda bleh, but prohibiting political discussion in such an international forum is such a waste

It's not a bad idea actually, I do like reading into politics and it would be nice to discuss it here too.

I'm actually making a short political documentary at the moment (should be finished within a couple of weeks) on the idea that the UK is becoming a "surveillance society".

Did you know that the UK has 20% of the world's CCTV cameras. And considering we only have 1% of the world's population here, that's a hell of a lot of cameras. You usually get caught on camera about 300 times a day here... a bit scary if you ask me ;\
