I do not think, but they will have to release something new (I mean add to CS) because games are better and better (and I mean on FPS) just look at CoD 4, for me it is currently better than CS 1.6. But tournaments are better for CS so it will not die for long time..

And people on public are like "faggot noob " "u fucking gay piece of shit" they take the game way too serious :D i dont get it. maybe its just my opinion, i don't care -.-

1.6 is still better than source or some other cs versions... I think 1.6 will live till 2010 for sure and then a better cs, maybe 1.7, will appear.

i`d like to belive it never dies ... its a great sport and for those who are playing on public servers or deathmach maps its a great game... cs will live with us and die with us beacuse the younger kidz like games with much better graphics and resolution ... but cs is not about the graphics or sound quality or resolution dude! CS is about beeng better than the other guy , like vilden sad : cs is not about winning or loosing , cs is about respect. thx 4 reading

It won't die that soon... there is just no reason why it should. It's the best known shooter, it has lots of servers and players, the largest clan szene containing all skills, it has a very easy gameplay and is very different to most other shooters with it's short rounds, buymenu, nadehandling and wallshots
And there are, believe it or not, still a lot of players with bad hardware who can't play all those high end grafic shooters anyways while 1.6 is playable with super old hardware and low bandwith.
