CSP still needs work, although it may resemble 1.6 when finished it will still feel more like cs:s due to the source engine.
As for 1.6, many of the smaller communities ive noticed are pretty much dead since ive came back, we'll speaking from the behalf of the uk communitie that is.
Source seems to be alot more active, more mixes, more lans, more top 1.6 teams now playing it, generally what 1.6 used to be like a while back!
So yeah would be cool if this promod takes off but will never be what 1.6 is and now days, WAS. (yes i will be joining the darkside and start playing source soon.)

I'm still rather hesitant about the promod because I like cs the way it is, most people who play it are, so I wonder why software developers keep trying to find an alternative to 1.6
I sure hope the money merits all the time they put in developing it.
If everyone were to switch to promod, I probably would too, unlike the horror known as cs:source

@grmwn
Totally agree, cs series have become SO boring. But for some reason IF I had to chose a serie my fav is 1.6. I've been active in both scenes and css is just frustrating. In CS you can really notice if someone is good or not, css is just way too random and most of the time you're having a "wtf" feeling :D.
I'm just waiting for SC2 for something new. Play COD4 if you want a new schooter with potential!
