It's about your RAM and your RAM-Speed.
I've 2GB 533Mhz and Vista and the preformance isn't even good as it could be with 2GB 800mhz ram.
2GB 533Mhz ram are pretty good for Windows XP that's why i will go back to XP. :)

or maybe it's all about the "migration" huh...using a 5 yo OS and then to change it,it's not so easy but i'm with windows vista and i got no problems,xp got many crashes,in vista the problem with DrWtsn Send Erros are no more problem,for now XP > Vista cuz Vista is brand new and there is still what you can wish to do from microsoft but after one year all will use vista cuz all games and programs will be maded to be for vista,who now use or remember win 95 or 98 huh...so the vista's time is coming,just buy yourself one very good PC and have fun with the Vista cuz it's better at all or will be 10 times better than XP after 1 year.

but you can choose to take away all visual things you can make it look like it was w98 :D or like xp still its better in searching and finding faults and vista is somehow more safe than xp and wtf 256mb ram more! who givs a shit thats even like a 7year old computer could run it i promise you wont feel any change ingame + it suports dx10/10.1 and 11 xp doesnt so you can still get more fps:P

i have vista ultimate and it's sucks :(( the problem is that i have 4 gig of ram and XP recognize only 2 :( but i will chose the XP it's much more stable then the Vista
