the resolution is purely based on own feelings. I play with 800x600 because i think it's the perfect reso ; but some others here will disagree for sure. so i think you'll have to decide yourself . =) (btw go for a higher refresh rate:p)

It's something between 640 & 1024.
Models don't seem small and you can see them from long distances pretty well.

some monitors can do 85 hz,

use 800 or 640 resolution (640 has larger pixel.. so u may not like it)
