It basically depends on what you're used to. ;)

That's for me:

light blue, cyan -- cl_crosshair_color "0 250 255"
medium, auto -- cl_crosshair_size "2"
solid xhair -- cl_crosshair_translucent "0"
translucent radar -- cl_radartype "0"
lefthand -- cl_righthand "0"

640x480 -- large, medium on distance
800x600 -- medium
1024x768 -- small, medium for pistol round

dark maps = bright xhair color
and vice versa.

black -- cl_crosshair_color "0 0 0"
white -- cl_crosshair_color "255 255 255"

I've 20" LCD widescreen... hard to play with 640x480 resolution...

I earlier too thought so.. 640* Large, but with deagle did not leave well to play.
Has then rearranged on medium and I play to myself in pleasure..

Play as to you conveniently!
To me it is more convenient 800* medium 640* medium... no translured.. green ofc
