*READ* CS Vision.

About 80% of pro gamers (in cs) don't wear glasses. Obviously they spend a lot of time on their computers training up for CS, and i spend 35% of time on my computer just browsing forums, watching vids, downloading music, talking on IRC / Vent / MSN / Xfire etc.

Recently i went for a 2nd checkup at the opticians. They told me that my vision is significantly worse than it was 2 years ago, he told me to play for a hour, take a hour break, play for another hour, take another hour break and so on. I saw in a interview someone from SK saying they play 9 hours a day at Inferno Online for 2 weeks getting ready for tournaments, and for some reason, their vision is still alright, no need for glasses. I need to wear glasses now, but im only 14 so i'm hoping when i'm older that eye technicians will get a more accurate way to fix eyes (like laser eye treatment) so i can have good vision again when i'm older. Education-wise, i'm doing well so i'll probably get a good job and earn enough to get eye treatment.

Summed up, how do so many CS professionals keep their vision good, do they just not wear glasses while on camera? Do they wear contact lenses? Did they use laser eye treatment?

I've been on the computer a lot since 2003...I now have glasses but that was affected more by a car crash, but my vision had got a little worse between 04-05... well the optitions say that...

=] Wear your glasses but find the right frame for you =] You will wear them and look fly! =]

After all the use I give to my PC, I just find my vision the same..maybe it depends on the person's vision and "resistance".

But wearing glasses would help, wish you luck on your vision problem.

Just curious: CRT or LCD monitors? Which refresh rate do you use?

I have been gaming heavily for the last ~7 years and my eyesight is pretty much the same from back then. If gaming affected my life in anyway, it's surely more of a RSI thing in my right hand. My grip ain't as strong as it used to be, which kinda sucks.

i figured it out, its age. -.-

I'm 15 (in a few days, so constant gaming means bye bye vision. a 11 year old i know has worse vision than me, but we play cs the same amount of time, my dads friend left the army 3 years ago, and now plays hardcore pc games, but vision is fine, and all pro gamers are 16-35, so most of them have good vision. I've been using LCD on 60 - 75 hz
