I know counter-strike 1.6 is a super old game. Heres the deal, i get 100 fps in all types of game play until i encounter smoke(s). I would say fairly dramatic frame loss. For 1 smoke i prob run around 69-85 fps, and for more than 1 smoke well its mostly disaster. IT STARTED 1 WEEK AGO.

nVidia GeForce 9500 GT @ 512MB
700 GB HDD
Newest up to date drivers
Windows 7 Home Premium

I tried to reset windows; reset cs, steam, play with standart cfg; set my graphic card - nothing.

yeah, its better, but 800x600 - 2-3 smokes - 60-70fps...
640x480 - good, but this graphic is shit!

Why Race Driver GRID (2008y. (Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz or Athlon X2 3800+; 2GB RAM; GeForce 8800 or Radeon X1950)) works better than f***ing CS 1.6 (500 MHz processor, 96 MB RAM) WTF?!?!??!?!?!

yeah, or if you got a quad core processor, make it run on one processor, find it by launch options

turn anisotropic filtering and antialiasing off, should work after that

i have 9400gt dual core 1.8 ..4-5 smokes 100fps :PP

all options off. including vsync and anisotropic filt.

install newest drivers.

123125 times did it. nothing.
and I don't have antivirus, antispywae....

got the same problem in smoke normally its like 100 fps but in 2 smokes it dropps like half
