I have owned and used both the MX518 and 3.0 and in all honesty I love my 3.0 more.
The Mx518 is comfortable and is smooth. But the 3.0 I get the full feel it picks and reads so fast and glides so smoothly. In all honesty both a great mice, but my vote goes to the 3.0 best mouse of all time.
