500 Hz is more than enough, 1000 is unstable unless you have a Razer mouse.
It's a polling rate for USB:
125 hz = 8 ms (default)
250 hz = 4 ms
500 hz = 2 ms
1000 hz = 1 ms

1000 hz = 1 ms
500hz

So 1000Hz for Razer mice aren't dangerous?

Normally, no. But I don't take any responsability if anything happens to it after changing the Hz.

I'm pretty sure that mouse has a default Hz of 1000, you can only try to change the Hz, it's safe to do with the Kone.
