Rate fixing + Fps fixing

Hey!

I was just thinking what would be optimal fps and rate settings for me. My monitor is giving up only 75Hz so should i go for fps_max 75 or 101? And after that, what should i put for my cmd- and updaterate?

Any help is good :)

use 101 :)

i will explain only one time for you...
1.Monitor HZ,is the refresh rate from video card to the monitor. If you have 75 Hz RR,this not mean that you will have 75 fps in the game, because 75 Hz RR is Desktop RR,not in-game RR,the game will run in default hz rr .If you support more than 100,like me on my old Mitsubishi Diamond Pro which i was able to make 200 hz rr,then you will have 200 rr in the desktop and again not in the game,if you want to change the in-game rr then use -freq 120 example.
2.cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate,this 2 commands hows we see is cl = client. They are for your inet connection settings. The updaterate value is for the "packets with information" that you send to the server as a client.cmdrate value is the "packets with information" that you get from the server as a client. If your values are 100,then you want from the server to send the maximum amount of packets 100 and also the server what his 100 packets of info. Now the balance btw the commands. If you have "loss" then your inet connection is not able to send 100 packets of information to the server every single second,if you have "choke" then the server is feel bad and he is not able to send to you as a client the required 100 packets.I dont mean that you dont get the all 100 packets.Example : loss 5-10 = this mean that you did send to the server only 90 packets in that second from the required 100,choke 3-4 = this mean that the server did not send you 100 packets as is required, only 96-97 packets in that second.Set your ex_interp 0 for best game,no chopping, flickers and etc.If you have 20 loss all the time then set your cl_updaterate to 70,if you have choke 20 or 30 which is rare in most of the time set your cl_cmdrate to 70-80,this mean that if you put it to 100 it will not work.I hope you did learn something.

Thank you Reik0. That monitor tip was great!

like this ...
its my settings and its work just fine and i have 2.5mb dial and low performance graphic card.
and i have 80FPS don't use developer 1 cuz it will damage your graphic card .
this command making your graphic card to accelerate and damage it ...

rate 25000
cl_updaterate 101
cl_cmdrate 101.. If you get loss try with cl_cmdrate 100 and work your way down untill you dont have no more loss

ex_interp 0 All people think that its supposed to be like 0.1 or 1.0 iam not sure. But when you put it on 0 it will auto set itself to the ex_interp that your supposed to have =)

use -freq 120 but don't forget to disabled vertical synchronisation in your video card settings !

use :

rate 25000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
ex_interp 0.01

That's all

Right click on icon of your CS, go to tab "shortcut" and you will see "TARGET" --- just type on the end -freq 120 or some freq you want to have in cs, like 75.

tnx dude... what is the best -freq ??

Hi dude check this :
http://www.gotfrag.com/cs/story/30057/

Cl_cmdrate 105,cl_updaterate 100 and rate 20000 really works for me!!!Use net_graph 1 and compare with cl_cmdrate 101,cl_cmdrate 101 and rate 25000.
With 105,100 and 20000 is better for network, you can really feel the difference.

Good Look!

Counter-Strike 1.6 only support up to 100hz, so it's no idea to use "-freq 120" cause u will not get 120 fps in-game!
