I've recently been thinking about something regarding ex_interp values.
Generally, people set their ex_interp value as low as possible.
Though, what I've been thinking about, wouldn't it be best to adjust your ex_interp value according to your latency?
Like, since my connection sucks, I never have a ping below 40-50. So instead of having an ex_interp value of 0.01, wouldn't it be better set mine on 0.045?
Anyhow, I just came up with this. Might be an utter stupid idea, but that's why I posted it here to have some other thoughts on it :)

and i think if you used extrpmax they cut out and now u use this will be easier to play

theoretically your interp rate is supposed to be .01 but that doesn't always apply some people use 0.1 online and 0.01 on lan

"ex_interp 0" will automatically set your interp to what is appropriate for your rates (ex. rate 9999, which is what most people with bad connections use, but i cannot recommend). But in short, you're right, with a higher ping (although 40-50 isn't terrible) a higher interp value would help you, because shots will register where they are on your screen opposed to server actuality.

I mainly made this thread because I was noticing that my shots weren't hitting as they are supposed to. My latency of 40-50 isn't terrible, but I was noticing that something wasn't right.

It seems to be working out nicely for me now, though I got this problem that no matter what I try, it keeps on resetting to ex_interp 0.01
I tried adjusting in console, adding it in 2 different ways in my config
(as ex_interp 0.0425 and as ex_interp 0.0425; alias ex_interp)
Nothing works :x
