can some one explain to me what is so special or good about 640x480 res ... i really dont know ... why ppl use it .. they see worse .. what so good about that . is it better to spray ? to shoot bullet per bullet ... :P i simple cant understand .. and my eyes tear allottt x))))))... thanks

Personal preference, I just like the feel of it. on larger resolutions things are too small and it is difficult to take in all of the information on your screen.

640x480 better for spraying.Using larger rezolutions allows you to see things that ppl with 640 cant see.
for example leg behind the box,you wont see it with 640,and ppl wiith 860 or 1200 will see it.

Its nothing special about 640*480 its just on what resolution are you used to play. I started with 640*480 cuz i couldn't played 800*600 shitty computer shitty monitor :D

due to the old beta CS, it only allowed the player the max resolution is 640x480. So all of old-school players just simply get used to play with this resolution :D

I myself played with 400x300 resolution in beta 6.1. And as I remember there are also many lower resolution such as 320x200 maybe haha

i play on 1024 small ... 640 large is good too... and 800 medium :)

640 is bigger: more headshots, and also, i love when it's ugly, you feel leet =)

Spraying technically isnt "easier" all resolutions are scaled, so you are really pulling the same amount. it just appears easier, and i believe your mind is able to control it easier, because when everything is bigger, you will over-compensate.

imo, people play cs 1.6, not for the graphics, but because it's a classic game.

more of a competitive game so you want something that feels comfortable to play with, so this comes down to preference.

but there's reasons why people choose not to play with the highest resolutions

I used to play in 1024 res for like 3 years then i switched to 800 and then to 640 . I can say that I have become more consistent using 640 res . 640 res is best for rifles
