22" 640x480 scale

So, is it possible to set my 22" Samsung syncmaster 226bw to 75hz, with 640x480 SCALED reso?

Because at the moment, im using 640x480 with NVIDIA-scaling, (black bars right and left) so the aspect ratio stays original 4:3, eventhough screen is 16:9, but it can only handle 60hz max refresh rate.

I can put 640x480 reso without scaling, to 75hz, but then ingame it looks weird because of stretching.

SO, is there any possibility to use 640x480 reso @ 22", with fixed 4:3 aspect ratio AND 75HZ!?

tried to check nvidia's and other forums, without a solution...

just get a crt

-freq 75 in command line doesn't help? then use RefreshLock, latest version software

yes, i have -freq 75 @commandline, but it does not help.. going to try that refreshlock.

come on guys, you must have some solutions! :--------(

throw your monitor away :P

i've 22" lcd too, and i can play with this resolution, i never change any mod and i never get any problems =)

you can use 640x480, i recently (3 days) bought a 22" LCD monitor, refresh rate is locked at 60Hz/70Hz for ALL LCD's doesn't work higher. and your lcd must have a option under its own OSD Menu, that says something like 4:3 in Wide (Wheter the resolution at the moment is set, it will be 4:3 or Wide). Wide causes stretching, 4:3 causes 2 black bars, one at the left and one at the right..

right now i'm testing real widescreen resolutions, like 1440x900/1680x1050, and 1440x900 is totalPwnage, it gets a little sluggish inside smokes with 32bit Depth oh well..

don't know if there is some other widescreen resolution that equals 640x480 16:10 ratio, assuming thats your widescreen ratio.

peace

Nice

i had 22" wide screen too.. switched back to 959nf crt and its alot better on games :p but sucks otherwise :D

most good lcd's do 85hz

idk about that, mine gives up to 60 or 70 hz.. but on lcd's that is not important... u don't notice the flickering you would notice on crt's ..

although crt's are better for gaming.. i'm not disliking my Lcd for gaming
