I bought a new 22" LCD and after having some troubles with hertz, I reinstalled drivers and steam. Got it all working now, but somehow now I lag in smoke. Got like 40-70 fps in smoke:S
If i'm standing near the smoke, it's all Ok, but if i'm going in it, then the hell begins.
Didn't have that problem before, so waiting for your help.

Info:
AMD Athlon xp3200+
ATI Radeon 9600
Ati Omega drivers
Vsync off

in internet it always lags if you pass trought a smoke..
but if this is happening in lan i think you got a problem dude :]

the point is that it's normal for Radeon 9600(Pro)

but your graphics card on performance and not quality maybe, worth a try

Well I didn't have it before and I already tried to put everything on performance( if i didn´t miss some).

I know that my graphic card quite *****, but need to use it for 2 or 3 months more.

Your graphic card just sucks, thats why the lag.

try to put your smoke quality very bad so the computer doesn't have to render the smoke in good quality, maybe that will fix your problem. But these problems are very common with ATI grafic cards, NVIDIA still the best bro ;-)

How many fps do u have !?

I have the same problem with the same graphic card. :/ I have the Catalyst drivers for 9600 o_O

oo damn it .. when i play 5 vs 5 i always throw the smoke .. not for the enemy not to see.. but TO LAG THEM .. and the ace comes xD

ROFL, maybe his Ati card is just plain OLD so it lags k?

change graphics..get nvidia

Well, if you buy as old nvidia as ati;s 9600 is it wouldnt make any difference :/ Buy the new Ati card which is coming

i prefer nvidias atleast for a moment :) the new atis should be loveable.

im using command mp_i_want_to_have_100_fps_always. AND ITS WORKING!

fps 101 ...and check your conection and set rate cl_updaterate
