Hi,

I have recently received a new graphic card (nVidia 8400 GS) to replace my broken one and I can't run Counter-Strike in openGL mode anymore, it forces to me to put it in Software mode. I sort of have discovered it's a common problem, I've already looked on Google for a solution, but nothing. About the message I get when the game shuts down, it says:

"The specified video mode is not supported. The game will now run in software mode."

I have already installed the latest drivers and it still doesn't work. At least I think I did ^.^

If someone has a solution, it would be great to share it :P

it's a popular error

1. Install your Video card driver to make sure it support OpenGL

2. Run the game, go in video, choose Open GL and OK, if it's has this notice again, do the same ( run the game, choose openGL.. ) for couple of times till CS1.6 accept this. Now you can play :)
