Something about China.
Since I think I have commented enough on Tibet issues, I will just bring something else up.
The reason why some people hate China is mainly because China runs communism and the countries those people live in runs capitalism. Capitalism and communism are like water and fire that can't be mixed. Before, people were told that the opposite is the devil and they will be annihilated in the end. This in my honest opinion can be a kind of brain-washing. Just like not everything in capitalism is as perfect as it describes, not everything in communism is as evil as the capitalists say it is. Basically it is what those two represent againsts each other.
Look, I am not a communism supporter even after years of educating by it or you can say "brain-washing" by it and I think there are a lot of people in China think exactly the way I do. But most of us do believe that for this period of time single-party state does fit it with China best. Being democratic is suitable when the average education level and standard of living of citizens have risen to a certain point. Otherwise it will dramatically hurt the country in most of the directions. It is certainly not the right time for China yet. As I already mentioned in previous post, there are still 8 billion or 9 billion chinese who are still farmer(in this case they are still living in a pretty poor life) and not well-educated. Just image what they will do or what they can do if they are given the rights to elect their "own" leader. Being ignorant means most of the times easy to be instigated. It will take a long time for them to be really doing what DEMOCRACY is all about. Well time is exactly the thing that China doesn't have since China has already lost lots of time of developing in the history because of invasion by some countries. So this is my point, "IT IS NOT TIME". In maybe 30-50 years, I believe China can be really democratic. Changes need time.
To be honest with you, I don't feel my human rights have been trampled down at all when I was still living in China 5 years ago and so do my family and my friends. Sure there are certainly human rights abuses in China but the situation has been much much much better than it was before and sometimes it is inevitable. Even in some democratic countries there are human rights abuses. So why do you expect China to be perfect and unmistakable?
With China's single-party state, China has growing drastically in economic and such. Nobody can deny this fact. People in China has become to be happier and happier about chinese goverment and this is certainly not like what some western countries say that communist China is going to be annihilated very soon at least not as quickly as they say it will be.
I also need to remind you guys that China has the biggest population of 13 billion in the world. No matter how small the problem is in other countries, it will be a pretty damn big problem in China. For example, the gross domestic product aka GDP of China is ranked 4th in 2007 which is just a little bit less than germany's. But the average GPD of people is only 2000 dollars which is ranked 99th. You really need to think about this my friend.
Plus at least PRC aka the people republic of China, has never invaded any country for oil profit and such like USA UK Germany and Japan did or are doing in the history. China could've occupied both Vietnam and India at that time but we didn't because that was not what we intended to do. We just wanted to give them some punishment and that was it.
People of the whole world are more than welcome to come to China this summer and experience the changes that have been going on in China yourselves and we have already made our tea ready for our guests. :)
