Bad Quality in 800x600
why do I get bad quality in cs when i play 800x600, and everything gets so unclear and bad. I run CS in 1024 but I want to run it on 800x600, but I get bad quality as tolden.
why is that?, I have the best ATI driver.. and everything. but WHY? and my monitor is 17'
I'm not sure about ATi, but in Nvidia driver control panels there's an option to set visual quality to high quality - you could try the ATi equivalent.
You could also try enabling AA/AF

800x600 will never look as good as 1024x768 as it's obviously a smaller image therefore it has to be stretched more to fill the screen, but as mK said try changing your image quality and/or aa/af.
yes, I know that 800x600 will never look as good as 1024x768, but the quality changes completly, I think its my monitor or something, or some options in the properties for screen..
because its all wrecked and bad, and the display looks like im wearing glasses! (unclear)

mb use reforce? =\
go to your video card options and set it Anti Aliasing : 6x, Anisotropic Filtering 16x all : High quality
i have that problem aswell :s
You got a CTR or TFT? I think some TFTs have problems with using some resolutions.
If you have a more or less new graphic card (geforce4/radeon9k xD) and enabled those options in your driver, you should check how other games or whatever look in 800x640. If the quality suffers in other applications than HL-engine based games, it's most likely a conflict with your monitor.
