I have had my headset for quite a while, its the best headset ever :P
but, my dog chewed up the extension cord. Ever watched a movie on your PC and though "wow i really like the music, its a shame the characters voices go over the music and i cant hear it properly" well i dont have to! My dog's headset extension cord chewing made CS sound really weird, no footsteps or gun reloads only sounds of your gun firing + ladders and doors. The extension cord is the one that came with my Steelseries steelsound 5hv2, non USB. Any idea's if its fixable or what the cord is actually called? There seems to be many models of "Headset Extension Cords".

and what i meant earlier about the movie music and characters speaking, when i watch movies (for example the Prison Break series) i can hear only the music. It's really weird and i have no idea how its even possible. They don't exactly teach us how steelsound 5hv2's work in school. Quite a shame really.

it's easy, cut the chewed cord , then re-connect the cord to the volume control ,it's easy if you know a little bit about electric.

I have the same problem with my pc150 , and it runs well now ( the sound is the same ) because it's just the problem of the cord

I have the non usb like you buddy, and that's very strange. If you broke the exstended cord it shouldnt affect the main one. I have never tried no using the extension myself so maybe it's a requirement. Maybe you dog broke the main cord aswell some how. I just keep my room locked at all times :D

A friend of mine also got his extension cord chewed up, so he wrote steelseries support and they gave him a new - pretty good customer service tbh
