Here I found something interessting, it seems that pre-realeased version of Windows7 has a boot-time faster than Vista... I know that vista is slower than anything, specially on pre-configured laptop but just watch the difference between 2 sames computers, with same hardware and same boot-device:

well, im using 7 now, seems much faster then vista, but i still prefer using xp, im using xp since october 2001! got hold of a pirated cd of it way back!

So far now Windows 7 is in pre beta only.But still its really improve from Vista because i still consider vista as a fail project from Microsoft.Before,Microsoft only produces new operating system every 4 years and now for vista,its only 2 years that they start to build Windows 7 just to improve every of their mistakes in vista.I believe Windows7 will be the fastest operating system ever build..expect to be faster than Linux,Ubuntu and Lindows.

Vista may have not sold as XP, but it is definately not a failed project.

everyone saying vista is an epic fail just has no clue what they're talkin about...if you have a good system vista is so much better than xp... it's very easy to handle...you have everthing with 1 or 2 clicks while in xp you have to go in thousands of menu's... you can set up you're network with 3 clicks while in xp nothing really works right...there is no good reason why xp should be better

ya right, vista is easy to use, but it's fucking heavy for games. That's why xp is beter.

Vista on my PC runs faster than XP

Youre supposed to install drivers aswell on xp, its a proven fact over and over again, if you care to google, that XP is way faster than vista, its also faster than the win7 beta(For now).
I feel kinda sorry for the people who swear to vista, since all they did was pay for beta testing windows 7, but also have to pay for it if they want to upgrade to it
